About Vie
In 2010, Vie decided to do a health overhaul to boost her health & body, eliminate inflammation, and achieve specific health & fitness goals naturally. She learned how to maximize foods, herbs, and spices’ health potentials, discovered their powerful healing effects, and experienced the real meaning of “You are what you eat” and “Let food be thy medicine.”
After achieving great results, she became enamored with the idea that you can use food to help you thrive mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Inspired to create a healthy lifestyle centered on food’s superpower and the body’s innate ability to heal, eating and cooking with a mission to look and feel better daily became her passion, beneficial life principle, and strategy for upkeeping a healthy mind and body. From the looks of it, it is working quite well for her.

Originally from Southeast Asia but grew up in Northwest Africa, traveling to many different countries and eating many wonderfully exotic dishes, Vie is inspired by international cuisines and cultures.
She acquired a sophisticated palette for different types of cuisines at a young age, began paying attention to the ingredients that made up a dish and learned to cook and bake because of it. The taste, textures, and smells of herbs and spices and other elements in the Moroccan dishes introduced to her, like tagines, roasted whole lamb served with couscous and pine nuts, pastillas, mint tea, and the fragrant seafood paellas, and fresh calamari she ate in Spain & Gibraltar inspired her love for cooking. She appreciates the ingredients’ depth and flavors and is inspired daily to create healthy, delicious recipes with a mission, to nourish the mind & body one meal at a time.
Eating healthy to her means eating a clean, balanced meal made from whole, fresh ingredients, like those she remembers shopping for in the “souk” (marketplace) with her mother and those picked straight from the trees, bursting with flavors, nutrients, and health benefits.
She firmly believes you can create better health starting in the kitchen. She loves teaching others to live healthier through their palette, creating delicious meals with health-benefiting spices, herbs, and whole ingredients, writing about them, and sharing her learnings, creations, and healthy lifestyle experiences with others.

Ancient traditions have used foods' powerful health-boosting and healing effects for thousands of years. And it’s no secret that adding them to your daily diet is an excellent strategy for boosting your health and body.
For example, turmeric contains curcumin, which may have antioxidant, anticancer, and anti-inflammatory properties. Mixing it with other spices with more nutrients packs a powerful punch for your health and palette. And that’s where Vie’s expertise lies, mixing her culinary skills and background in holistic nutrition and interest in food, herbs, spices, and cuisines to create healthy recipes that please the palette, satisfy your cravings, and boost your health from the inside out.

Food As Strategy.

A health scare changed my life perspective.
Lying in a hospital bed at nineteen after surgery due to a blood clot in my brain that caused seizures, I experienced a newfound appreciation for good health, especially brain health. The road to recovery involved taking numerous prescription medications that negatively affected my communication ability. I stuttered and struggled to form sentences experiencing lapses between my thoughts and the ability to verbalize them out loud. If you’ve ever experienced words being on the “tip of your tongue,” you know exactly what I’m talking about. And when I was taking medication, that was part of the side effects. It’s one reason I like to be mentally clear at all times. Drugs also caused inflammation in parts of my thyroid gland which had to be removed and caused many other health issues. I prefer a more natural approach to supporting health, mind & body, and I love that I can affect it.
Becoming More Natural

You can make a change if you apply yourself.
I once lacked the knowledge and skills to help myself. I experienced gym intimidation and thought I ate well because I cooked. Feeling unhealthy and uncomfortable in my skin daily reminded me that I needed to change. I decided to learn how to be the change I wish to see in myself and acquired skill sets and knowledge that improved my life. As a busy professional whose work/life balance didn’t exist, lacking discipline with my diet and lifestyle habits once put my health at risk. That was over a decade ago. But I decided to take action. There’s something to be said about taking action. No matter how small you think they are, steps ultimately add up to something bigger, in my case, a life change. So, take action toward what you want to achieve daily and practice patience, and you will get what you seek.
